Get The Latest City News

In the last few months, the Canterbury business community has demonstrated, once again, agility and speed in responding to an unprecedented situation. Along with other organisations across the region, nation and world have all had to – very quickly – review and re-think how we conduct business.

This year, Westpac and The Chamber are bringing you a new Canterbury Business Champions campaign – a digital platform to enable all of us to collectively celebrate our business champions and share the stories that make this region such an amazing place to do business.

There are no limits on how many stories are shared, or when your story took place. There are some great prizes to be won so if you have a great story to share on how your business has adapted to cope with this ever changing world please click on this LINK to share it.

From great feats to small tokens – whatever you think makes a champion – they want to hear from you.

The Green Lab are inviting Central City Business and property owners to participate in a creative project to activate central Christchurch. They are working with Ōtautahi Creative Spaces, Life in Vacant Spaces and us to develop a series of living artworks that we will install in vacant spaces in the central city.

The Green Lab will design and construct self wicking green walls; the living art. They will provide wooden frames and a colour palette to a group of artists from Ōtautahi Creative Spaces, who will work in a pop up studio in the central city to customise each frame.

Completed artworks will be placed in selected vacant or under utilised spaces. The Green Lab and its collaborators will fund the construction of five frames, and we are seeking to double this number.

To sponsor a frame, including all materials, construction, plants, and a koha for the artist, with the option of acquisition at the end of the project is $600.
