All of New Zealand is at Alert Level 4 from 11:59 pm on Tuesday 17 August 2021 and the South Island will remain at that level until Friday when the Government will reassess the situation.

Mandatory recording of visitors

On 22 August, the Government announced that record keeping will become a requirement for people aged 12 and over at all Alert Levels for busy places and events.  NEW RULES

COVID-19 Financial support

There's a range of financial support you may be eligible to apply for as a result of the COVID-19 alert level rise, including the Wage Subsidy Scheme and the Resurgence Support Payment.

COVID Vaccines are now available in the Central City 
The vaccinations are available from the pharmacists at Christchurch Central Pharmacy (upstairs at 148 Hereford St) and at Unichem Cashel. 
 
The doctors are only vaccinating their patients via invite and not until next month
